The 14.6m (48') composite planing hull power cat Sea Star was built in NZ for an American client who had 3 previous power cats from our studio. It is based in Maryland (summers in Maine) and is in excellent condition and had a complete re-paint recently. The boat was built from an ATL Composites pre-made, pre-cut composite panel system with a foam cored and E glass hull and deck and a foam cored and carbon internal structure with carbon secondary bonding.

This super strong light weight planing cat is very efficient and can actually get up on a plane with one engine.

The interior has 2 sleeping cabins and 2 bathrooms. The galley is ‘down’ in the port hull which creates a comfortable lounge. The internal helm station is elevated and roomy.

Fitted with a pair of 6LY 480hp Yanmars, genset, air conditioning, etc. Top speed of 30 knots and very economic cruising from 17 to 25 knots consuming 20 gph at 20 knots~.

Interior Features and Layout

• Maple interior

• Guest head/day head is aft of the guest cabin with large shower area

Performance and range

Sea Star will cruise at 20 knots burning 20 gph producing a range of 450 miles leaving a safe fuel reserve.

Cruising at 9-11 knots she burns 10 gph producing a range of 500 miles
